 - The video showcases iconic symbols/costumes/characters. - By featuring all these characters, symbols, and iconography of Middle Earth from the Hobbit, the government has an opportunity to showcase New Zealand scenery, and makes visitors want to see the places showcased in the film, such as Hobbiton and some of the landscapes present. So rather than wanting to make money on the films alone, the government chooses to fund films which showcase the country and culture, and are likely to attract fans, aiming to earn the money through tourism instead.

- New Zealand is popular worldwide for being the place where both The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings trilogies were filmed.
